
The BCGHS Library has been approved as a FamilySearch Affiliate Library
The benefit to members and visitors is access to 350+ million restricted images that are not directly available on the FamilySearch website unless being viewed at a FamilySearch Center, FamilySearch Library or a FamilySearch Affiliate Library.
Members and visitors must physically visit our Family History Library to access the additional records which will only be available through our public terminal once we get connected to FamilySearch.
To access FamilySearch you will need to log in using your personal login details. If you do not have a login then register at the FamilySearch site to create a free account. Anyone using FamilySearch must log in. Note: make sure you log out at the end of any session, especially when using a public computer be sure to visit our excellent research facility.
The BCGHS Family History Library contains dedicated genealogy and local history collections, making it an essential destination for family, history, and student researchers. We not only have books, but also family manuscripts, genealogical journals and digital records all full of valuable information not found online. Researchers can take advantage of access to our volunteers with years of training in research methods and various subjects.
BCGHS Family History Library is located at 9251 Hwy 6, Meridian, Texas. The research facility is open to the public and free. Volunteers are available to assist you with your research questions and problems.

Fridays 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Other hours can be arranged by appointment.
Volunteers Needed!!
The Family History Library is currently open Fridays from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. We need volunteers to fill the spots during the month. If you can help with any time slots please sign up in the Contact Us and let us know the days and times of the week or month you would be able to volunteer.
Donations
Donations to our Library Operating Fund support our excellent research facility. It is open to members as well as the general public. Examples of how these funds will be used are providing educational programs, purchases of books, digitizing of historical records, archiving records and other facility operation necessities.
***BCGHS is hosting their 2025 “Blast from the Past” fundraising event, on September 20, 2025 featuring Jake Hooker and the Outsiders, a celebrated country music act whose music resonates with the rural traditions of Texas. This event will bring our community together to celebrate our shared history while raising funds to support the BCGHS Family History Library’s research, educational programs, and preservation initiatives.
